The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger

This one is the best among my favorites so it would naturally go first in line on my shelf. Probably not a comfortable read to most but I can't find any other that would make my day the way this one could.

The story is about Holden, a teenager of sixteen (I was fourteen at the time I first read the book and I was totally thinking he could be my type) who got kicked out from his prep school which is becoming a very habit of his. He mulls over the great disappointments of the world and is bothered by the way people around him are becoming and especially is concerned about children. Generally you will read about his jouney around New York but most of the significant parts of the story lies in Holden's head so it would be very difficult for me to site a very satisfying summary. Do yourself a favor and read it yourself but I swear this is a very good book--don't miss on half of your life by passing this by.
